BEVOYA: Have you considered expanding the application of sleep evasions to other areas – such as emotional regulation?
LOONA: Of course. That’s how the idea for Loóna Shorts came about. These are 5-minute interactive sessions with narratives based on conceptual metaphor theory. Unlike full-length jogs, whose main purpose is to distract the user from negative thoughts and help them fall asleep, Shorts challenge the user to face a problem and deal with it within a limited time.
We’ve had tons of feedback from Loónarians that the shorts have helped them with anxiety, low self-esteem, panic attacks, and yes, emotional regulation.
BEVOYA: What is the most difficult stage of running?
LOONA: I’d say the hardest part of the process is deciding which parts of the concept will make it to production and which parts we’ll have to leave out due to technical limitations in user devices or the production schedule. We let our imaginations run wild during brainstorming, but at the end of the day, we want our product to be accessible and useful to as many people as possible.
BEVOYA: Thank you for spending time with me and making such a great program, Loona!
